Over the past five years, QECHUABOi has deliberately distanced himself from the nightlife scene to focus on creating music from his home studio. There, he has made the sampler his weapon of choice: he samples relentlessly and really pushes his kit to the limit, crafting tracks that sound raw, spontaneous and deeply sample-driven.
His work explores a sonic palette open to the 90s: breakbeat, hip‑hop, techno, dub and tropical appear as constant references, alongside forays into experimental territory that blur the boundaries between rhythm and noise. Although he has prioritised beatmaking during this period, he has not lost touch with the dancefloor: he has performed in key cities such as Zurich, Barcelona and Madrid, using these opportunities to keep alive his connection with the audience and the energy of the dance floor.
At the heart of his creative process lies a therapeutic and visceral drive: QECHUABOi pours his most raw and direct side into his productions, viewing music as an outlet and a form of honesty without expectations. The result is beats that sound intense, organic and at times uncomfortable — yet always sincere — pieces designed to convey what he feels inside rather than to fit into predictable formats.
Raw, spontaneous and sample-heavy — a creator who seeks, through the sampler and imperfection, to capture the emotional urgency of the moment.
