Ju-Ju
Biography
Ju-Ju is the electronic alias of Julián Carrara, a producer, sound engineer and guitarist who has played with Latin American alternative bands Candeleros and I Have Prøblemas. Born in Rosario, Argentina, and now based in Madrid, Ju-Ju creates a unique sonic world where jungle breaks, IDM glitches, acid squelches and lo-fi 8-bit nostalgia converge. In his live performances, he blends hardware with live visuals to transform his studio productions into an immersive, dancefloordriven audiovisual ritual.
He made his mark in 2026 with the KEBRADITO EP, which fuses jungle, breakbeat, IDM and Latin American melodies. He describes it as the soundtrack to a B-movie about precarity and collective unease. That same year also saw the release of KEBRADITO Remixes, which featured reworkings by Silvia Torres, Umami, Kid Cala and Alemal. Other notable releases in his discography include the No Internet, No Friends EP with Coconutah (2025), the After Ruso EP with The Black Puppy (2024), and the singles ‘U Can’t See Us’ (with Miki Di Sancio) and ‘Ojos de Rana’ (both 2023). He has performed live in Madrid, Barcelona, Mozambique and Buenos Aires, bringing his unique blend of DJ sets and live performances, accompanied by custom visuals, to audiences across three
continents.
LIVE A/V SET
A live Ju-Ju set is an immersive audiovisual experience, where studio productions explode into dancefloor catharsis. On stage, Ju-Ju performs live, blending hardware including an MPC Live, TD-3, Commodore 64, vocoder, microKorg, Model Cycles and DB-01 bassline. He triggers beats, basslines, and glitch textures in real time.
This sonic journey is accompanied by live, custom-made visuals created by 3D artist Oihannavsmm. Her photogrammetry-based imagery, previously featured on the cover of the KEBRADITO EP, morphs into broken landscapes and is projected behind the artist. An art installation of CRT monitors envelops the stage further, their flickering analogue glow adding a layer of lo-fi nostalgia and
technological decay.
HYBRID DJ SET
Ju-Ju’s hybrid set is a two-hour journey that blurs the line between DJ and live performer. On the one hand, he plays a selection of his own tracks and exclusive edits via CDJs, mixing and blending them as a traditional DJ would.
Concurrently, he layers live hardware performances using an MPC Live, an Erica Synth DB-01 Bassline and an Elektron Model Cycles, triggering additional drum patterns, acid lines and glitch textures in real time over the playing tracks.
The result is a constantly shifting soundscape in which pre-produced material and live improvisation coexist. Loops are captured and repeated, basslines are adjusted on the fly, and drum grooves evolve throughout the set.
