DJ.Panko (Ex Ojos de Brujo) presents Delahuerta

World music with animal sounds and electronic beats
This is Delahuerta!

Today we present a snippet of what will be the first single, inspired by the song of the Blackbird.

About Delahuerta

Delahuerta, DJ.Panko’s new project, tells the adventure of his personal life story, of migration to a rural environment from the very heart of intercultural Barcelona, Ciutat Vella, of tranquillity, of nature, of the sound of birds and the passion for agriculture.

While working the land, I was surrounded by the sounds of birds and insects, which I dedicated myself to recording. The Blackbird, the Pitroig, the Tortolas and other birds were my soundtrack and after importing those audios, with no other pretension than to investigate with them, I started to produce songs. When I already had several tracks I started to share them with other musician friends who, like me, were locked up without being able to work… And then came the collaborations…”. – DJ Panko tells us from his orchard in Montseny.

About DJ.Panko

Paco Gabás, better known as DJ.Panko, has been a benchmark on the Barcelona scene since time immemorial. For more than ten years he has toured the world as DJ of the band Ojos de Brujo, winners of the Latin Grammy Awards in 2007 in the Best Flamenco Album category with their LP “Techarí”.

After the dissolution of the band in 2011, he formed groups such as Electrorumbaiao with Kumar Afrosideral, as well as dedicating himself to his sessions as a DJ and producing remixes for various artists.

His new project is Delahuerta, an audiovisual combo born from online sessions and jams with fellow musicians around the world during the quarantine restrictions of 2020. The result of these remote music production sessions is recorded on a forthcoming album of the same name.

The album will be released by Folcore Records later this year, previewing tracks – and their respective remixes – in singles format, leading up to the full album’s release date of September 2024.
